Take Me Out to the Ball Game

Last week Hubby and I went downtown to Minute Maid Park to watch the Houston Astros take on the St. Louis Cardinals. It was such a great game. The Astros came back in the bottom of the 8th to be up 6-5, and they held them through the 9th. The cannons went off, the train blew its horn (Does any Houstonian know what the meaning of the train is?), and the fireworks popped. It was such a fantastic time.

It's amazing that you can enjoy a baseball game for $7 a ticket. This is the price for nosebleed seats at Minute Maid, but they were totally worth it. There is not a bad seat in the house. You can experience all the thrills and excitement without spending a bundle.

We went with our friends from Hubby's medical school. It's been great getting to know some people over the past year. Events such as the ball game can really help one open up and enjoy the company of others.

For the Love of Reading

Last weekend, while running errands, I made a sudden, quick turn onto Aberdeen instead of continuing on Beechnut. (I tend to make a lot of "quick turns"--just ask Hubby). In that split second, I had decided to check out the city library for some interesting reads. (and you thought I was exciting ;-).)

The building was glorious--big and new, just like the one in Marietta. I walked in.

It's been many many years since I received my first library card in the Cobb County system, and I had never gotten one without my mom signing for it. I walked in, very confused, and tried to find where to get one. It only took talking to 2 people, then once I was done, I headed to the shelves to scour the bindings.

Only the place was much smaller on the inside--there were only 4 or 5 shelves of fiction books. *sigh* Maybe next time I'll find that copy of Pride and Prejudice. Or I'll have to make another sudden quick turn to find another, bigger library.

At This Very Moment

Ahhh! I've been tagged by Ashley!

So for all those dying to know:

1. Are you craving anything and if so, what?

I'd have to go with hot tea. It would be so great to be home, curled up on the couch, with a good book and hot tea.

2. What is the weather outside, and do you wish it would change?

It's 82 degrees and mostly cloudy, with the humidity at 59% (which is very good!). I wish it was 60 degrees, with the leaves changing a brillant red . . .

3. What two websites do you think you will go to next after you are finished here?

Um, I don't know. Maybe check my e-mail? I know I'm boring!

4. Do you wish you were somewhere else and if so, where?

I've posted on this many times. :-) Maybe I complain too much! But yes, there are many places I'd rather be than Texas.

5. Do you wish you were someone else, and if so, who?

I don't know . . . God has blessed me so much. I don't think I would ever want to be anyone else.

Now I tag Julie, Jennifer, and Lauren. You're it!
